President, September 2017–Present
Vice President, April 2017–September 2017 Treasurer, December 2015-April 2017 Membership: August 2015-Present Rotaract is Rotary for young adults and is part of Rotary International. I love Rotaract and Rotary because it is an organization of people who are committed to improving their local community while also being part of an international community who believe in their ability to improve the world. My involvement in Rotary started in 2012 when I joined Interact at my high school and received the Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA) to attend a professional development conference for other Interact members. The conference included local Interact members as well as Rotary high school exchange students. I was also able to accompany this group to the 2013 Rotary UN day where I attended seminars and collaborated with other participants. At the University of Florida, I have been able to work with and support the local Rotary clubs in Gainesville. One project that my club did was to fundraise money for a young girl in Malawi to support her secondary education. We also support the two major fundraisers that the Gainesville Rotary Clubs create by helping set up and clean up after the event. |
2018 Florida Rotary President-Elect Training SeminarI had the chance to attend Rotary Florida President-Elect Training Seminar where I attended workshops and was able to meet other Rotarians and Rotaractors. I also had the honor to meet Rotary International (and UF alum) President-Elect Barry Rassin. During the conference Barry shared his goals of prioritizing Rotaract and Interact clubs for this upcoming Rotary year. I had an amazing time and look forward to implementing new ideas for UF Rotaract as well as continuing my work with Rotary/Rotaract as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Senegal
