Gator Global Initiative
This is a social impact conference that inspires students to find their passion and create change locally, nationally, and globally. I participated in the spring 2015 conference. I was able to go to Focus Area Sessions where I learned about a specific social topic. The conference also had Skill Sessions that focused on different skills that would help me be able to reach the goals and social impact that I want.

Florida Alternative Breaks:
SEC Compact
I went onto a FAB trip during my 2015 spring break. It was the SEC Compact, where different schools from the SEC volunteer during their spring break at NW Habitat for Humanity.. A group of UF students went to Guin, Alabama to help the NW Alabama Habitat for Humanity chapter. We were unable to break ground since it snowed the week before but we were able to learn more about the behind the scenes work that goes into Habitat. It was amazing to see how everyone in the community was willing to go above and beyond to help each other. We were able to have the small town experience where everyone knows each other. Theresa Clark, director of the SEC Compact, was able to have different community organizations make dinner for us every night. We were able to experience southern cooking. The people there are so nice and this trip was amazing.
